Glengary Glen Ross (1992)
Jenna – This movie is about a bunch of guys in an office. But it’s not funny like that television show The Office. Most of the time everyone is really angry and yelling.
The story takes place one rainy night at a real estate store. Some guy comes in (Alec Baldwin) and yells at the rest of the people. He tells them they are crummy salesmen and won’t let them have any coffee. He said because coffee is for closers. Everyone in the office thought he was a jerk.
They have a sales contest where the winner gets a new car, second place gets a set of steak knifes and third place is they are fired. The salesmen get really worried they are going to loose their job. I don’t know why it seemed like a really crappy place to work.
One of the salesmen (Jack Lemmon) has a sick daughter and tries real hard to make a sale so she can have like an operation or something. But he keeps having trouble because his cards have bad leads.
The rest of the time they keep yelling at the office manager guy (Kevin Spacey) because they want more cards with good leads. I think a lead is a phone number of somebody who might like to buy something. I would have used the computer to search but I guess this was a long time ago before the internet was invented.
Daddy said this movie had a lot of famous actors in it like that Creator guy from The Truman Show (Ed Harris) and the Scarface guy (Al Pacino).
Ethan - I didn’t watch this movie. I left after five minutes to go play with my LEGO
