Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Jenna: When this movie came out in the theaters last year Daddy asked if I wanted to see it with him and my brother. I told him ‘no’. Ethan really likes Star Wars so the DVD is playing in the living room at least once a week.

The tale of how Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader is what this movie is about. He starts out a good person but turns evil to save his girlfriend from dying. I don’t know why he did that. His teacher Obi-Wan Kenobi was upset that he turned evil and cut off Anakin’s feet and hands. I’m glad that when my teacher is mad at me she just makes me put my head down.

Then Obi-Wan left him on a lava planet to burn up. But I guess he deserved that for killing all those jedi kids.

Then some creepy old guy in a long black dress, Ethan says he is the Sith Lord and it’s a robe, whatever, brings him back to the hospital. I guess because he was really hurt they put in a Darth Vader suit. He must have hurt his voice because after he put on the helmet he talked like Simba’s dad in the Lion King.

Anakin’s girlfriend’s name is Queen Amadala. She has a lot of clothes; she didn’t do much except look worried and sit around her space apartment. At the end of the movie she dies anyway. But she has two babies who grow up to be in 3 more movies that were made before I was born. I don’t get that.

Sometimes I play light sabers with Ethan. I put on one of Ethan’s extra Jedi robes and we whack each other with plastic swords until one of us gets hurt and quits. I recommend going for the ear. It also hurts when you step on a wookie barefoot.

There are a lot of funny names in this movie like Count Dooku, Mustafar and Naboo. This one time Ethan really made me laugh, he said on his way to the bathroom ‘I have to go make a Count Dooku!’

This movie is the last of the three prequels. I asked Daddy what was a prequel. He grumbled something about ‘Midiclorians’ and how some man name George Lucas ruined his childhood treasures. So I don’t ask him about it anymore.

I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies all the way through. Sometimes when Ethan puts one of the movies on I will sit for a few minutes. But after that I’m bored and have to leave. Especially the parts where the old guy, Palpatine, is talking to a bunch of people for a long time. It reminds me of when Daddy watches C-SPAN.

Young JediEthan: I really like this movie. Star Wars is my favorite. I like it better than Jurassic Park.

I would have liked this movie better though if they showed Darth Vader more. It is a long movie and Darth Vader is only in the last few minutes. Most of the time I fast forward past the first hour of talking. He doesn’t even fight anyone with his light saber. He just yells “Nooooooooooo” after breaking free of Frankenstein’s table. I guess he was sad his girlfriend died. Or maybe he was mad he has fake robot legs and no hair.

I wish that I had the force. If I was powerful like Anakin I wouldn’t ever hurt anybody. I would probably just use it to knock over my sister when she bugged me too much.

General Grevious was cool too because he could use 4 light sabers. But he always sounded like he had a cold. I didn’t think that droids could get sick.

It was a good film, but the music wasn’t the best that John Williams has written for the series.

‘Empire Strikes Back’ remains my favorite.
