The University of Vermont in Burlington has built ‘gender neutral’ bathrooms in its new student center.

“It also has gender-neutral bathrooms, a feature added to accommodate transgendered people, as well as those with some disabilities. The four single bathrooms in the new Dudley H. Davis Center — each with a toilet, sink, shower and lockable door — cost about $2,500 a piece to build. Their wall signs identify each as “gender neutral restroom.”…”
This is one politically correct stunt that I whole heartily approve of. These restrooms were built in an effort to give the transgendered student a sanctuary in which to do their business since they don’t feel comfortable in either of the traditional sex segregated toilets.
This can also be a welcomed enhancement for those who still like a little privacy when nature calls. These ‘gender neutral’ restrooms along with the also trendy ‘family’ bathrooms give the ‘normal’ human a little privacy that has long since been forgotten in public.

At home, during a ‘code brown’, most people like their privacy and it can be unsettling to perform in the company of 5 to 10 stinky, grunting strangers. High heels or not, it’s no picnic peeing at a 15 foot trough with 10 other guys shoulder to shoulder.
Another plus besides privacy is that these restrooms are almost always empty and cleaner than their traditional gym locker room counter-parts. Not to mention they tend to be huge (thanks ADA) and offer ample square footage to do whatever one might desire away from disapproving eyes.
For all the untold trillions the government has wasted why not let them build more restrooms. This is one inclusive expenditure that we can all enjoy.
